Dagupan City (4 April) — Expect a longer vacation this coming weekend as April 7, the Monday nearest April 9 or Araw ng Kagitingan is declared a holiday.
RA 9462 was issued to declare certain days (specific or movable) as special or regular holidays.
It provides that holidays, except those which are religious in nature
are moved to the nearest Monday, unless otherwise modified by law,
order or proclamation
Aside from April 7, other regular and special holidays that were moved
to the nearest Monday are Independence Day (June 9 instead of June 12)
Bonifacio Day (Dec 1 instead of Nov 30) and Ninoy Aquino Day (Aug 18
instead of Aug 21)
Labor Day remains a holiday on May 1 and so with National Heroes Day on August 25.
All Saints Day (Nov 1), Christmas Day (Dec 25) and Rizal Day(Dec 30)
are regular holidays with the addition of Dec 26 and 29 and Dec 31 as
