Binalonan, Pangasinan (20 February) -- Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza said here Saturday the tri-cities ferry service to be put up by the cities of Alaminos, Dagupan and San Fernando will be finalized in agreement-signing among the local executives on March 1 in Dagupan City.
It is all systems go as far as all of us three city mayors are concerned," Braganza said.
Signing the MOA are Braganza, and Mayors Alipio Fernandez Jr. of Dagupan City and Pablo Ortega of San Fernando City.
Braganza said he and his counterpart-mayors decided in their last
meeting in San Fernando City that they will already sign the MOA
detailing the contributions of each local government unit to the
project.
A Philippine News Agency report said Department of Tourism Regional
Director Martin Valera who hosted that meeting endorsed the plan of the
three cities to put up the tri-cities ferry service across the Lingayen
Gulf.
This will facilitate the movement of people promote tourism and products as well, Valera stressed.
The project is also expected to service tourists coming down from
Baguio City who may want to visit the three cities at much faster pace.
Braganza announced to local mediamen here before the arrival of
President Arroyo for the inauguration of a private airfield managed by
the World Citi Colleges (WCC) Aviation Company that they intend to
order the first boats from a manufacturer in Calamba, Laguna.
The boat manufacturer, he said, is a Filipino company which had long been engaged in building water transportation facilities.
The tri-ferry service will make travel from, Alaminos to San Fernando City shorter in only one and a half hour. (PIA)
